The Acquired Brain Injury (A.B.I) Rehabilitation Services cater for adults with an Acquired Brain Injury, sustained as a result of a fall, road traffic accident, assault, anoxia, brain haemorrhage, stroke, tumour or infection of the brain. There are two services:

  • The Clubhouse offers a range of activities such as literacy and numeracy exercises, artwork, board games, discussion and computer work. The purpose of attendance at this service is rehabilitative, social, to provide support and to facilitate transition to other services. The clubhouse is located in St Luke’s Hospital, Clonmel and is open on a Wednesday and a Thursday for service users.
  • Home and Community Rehabilitation service offers the services of rehabilitation assistants working one-to-one in the community with the service user on specific rehabilitation goals as part of a personal community reintegration programme.

Target Group: The ABI Day & Outreach Service is for adults, aged 18 years and upwards, who have Acquired Brain Injury (ABI).
