Catholic Girl Guides of Ireland (CGI) provides challenging, accessible Guiding opportunities within a safe environment to enable girls and women to develop their full potential, instilling leadership skills for the future. CGI activities include:

  • Weekly meetings of the local group
  • Regional and national events, including trips to the zoo, orienteering, backwoods cooking and hiking
  • Opportunities to take part in international camping experiences
  • Opportunities to take part in the Gaisce and Oisín awards.

Members are divided according to age group. Brigíns are aged 6 – 10 years; Guides are aged 11 – 14 years; Rangers are aged 15 – 19 years; Leaders are adults of 18 years and upwards.

There is one CGI group in Carrick-on-Siúir, Buíon Naomh Nicholas Girl Guides.

Target Groups: Girls and young women aged 6 – 17 years. Female volunteers to take on the role of Leader.

How to access: Direct contact with the CGI National Office by parents and guardians and by female adults interested in volunteering.

Geographical remit: CGI is a nationwide organisation. The local group in Tipperary is based in Carrick-on-Siúir.
