The HSE dental service is available for children identified through screening appointments in Primary School and also in the case of emergencies for children up to the age of 16 years. It is also available to children, aged 13 – 15 years, for follow-up dental treatment from primary school referrals. Adults (over 16 years of age) who have a valid medical card can access a range of dental services and treatments under the Dental Treatment Service Scheme.
