The Garda Victim Service provides victims of crime with information of all significant developments associated with their case, with crime prevention advice and with details of relevant support services available from other agencies. The Victim Service Offices are the central point of contact for victims of crime and trauma in each Garda Division.

Victims of crime can also contact the national Crime Victim Helpline (see below) that offers support to victims of crime in Ireland. The helpline provide details of victim support services available in the local area. It also provides information on specialist services for victims of particular crimes such as domestic violence, sexual abuse and rape.

Target Group: People who are victims of crime.

How to access: The Garda Victim Service makes contact with a victim of crime once the crime is reported to An Garda Síochána. Alternatively, where An Garda Síochána is already involved with an individual victim, the Garda staff can pass on the information and contact details from the Garda Victim Service
