TAR Garda Youth Diversion Project is a community-based and community- supported youth development project which seeks to divert young people from becoming involved or having further involvement in anti-social or criminal behaviour. It aims to create the conditions whereby the behavioural patterns of young people towards law and order can develop and mature through positive interventions and interaction with the project through programmes and activities.

Target group(s) & target age-group(s): It primarily targets young people, aged 12 – 17 years, in Tipperary town who are at risk of becoming involved in anti-social behaviour and crime and remaining in the justice system.

Referral: Primary referrals are received through the Juvenile Liaison Officer and Secondary referrals are received from parents, Social Workers, Care Workers, Youth workers etc.
