Disability Federation of Ireland’s mission is to advocate for the full and equal inclusion of people with disabilities and disabling conditions in all aspects of their lives. It calls on all organisations and groups to play their part in effecting real change and it advocates how to do so in its current 3-year Strategic Plan. Disability Federation of Ireland has 120 member organisations and strong links with many more. Dolphin Swimming Club, Clonmel, is a swimming club for children and adults with disabilities that meets every Friday evening in the Leisure Centre, Ferryhouse, Clonmel. The club introduces children to feeling safe in water initially and supports them to learn to swim, if they wish to. It is affiliated to Special Olympics Ireland. It also holds an annual gala with competitions for its club members.

Foróige Youth Clubs provide an opportunity for young people to meet their peers locally in a safe environment and to develop their social skills and confidence through participating in club activities.
Foróige Juniors (clubs) are the first stage of an exciting journey in Foróige. Members get to have fun, work together, participate in decision making, develop good relationships with adults, get involved in the community, listen and take turns. Foróige Juniors cater for young people 10-12 years.
FLAC is an independent, voluntary organisation that helps people to understand and access their legal rights. Its aim is to promote equal access to justice for everybody. FLAC offers free and confidential legal information and advice to the public through its centres.
FLAC also runs a telephone information and referral line offering basic legal information to the public.

The Garda Victim Service provides victims of crime with information of all significant developments associated with their case, with crime prevention advice and with details of relevant support services available from other agencies. The Victim Service Offices are the central point of contact for victims of crime and trauma in each Garda Division.
Juvenile Liaison Officers (JLOs) work with children who have committed offences and liaise with their families and victims about their behaviour as part of the Garda Youth Diversion programme. In all cases, a local Juvenile Liaison Officer (JLO) will make contact with and meet the young person to discuss the offending behaviour and to assess whether he or she can be cautioned or whether to proceed with formal court process of charge and prosecution.

The Gold Star Disability initiative was set up to enable communities to work together to improve disability awareness and the integration of people with disabilities in all social and cultural activities in their local community. It is operating in two towns, Cashel and Tipperary town. Some of the range of actions undertaken in these towns include:
General Practitioners (GPs) treat all common medical conditions and refer patients to hospitals and other medical services for urgent and specialist treatment. They have a key role in HSE Primary Care, along with other Primary Care disciplines, in providing Preventative services, Early Intervention and Diagnosis in the community setting.
GROW is a national community based organisation providing support and education around emotional and mental wellbeing. Its 12 Step Recovery Program provides effective peer support, motivation and empowerment to enable members to take action to change their circumstances in a structured and supportive environment. GROW’s weekly support meetings enables members to construct their own recovery plan and journey towards personal growth. Its principal strength is the support its members give to each other, drawing on their own successful experiences of recovery.
